About this IMS Online Program

Participate in all four suttas or choose the ones that interest you most.

The suttas found in the Pali Canon are narratives about and discourses given by the Buddha during his 45 years of teaching. From his first sermon, narrated in “The Setting in Motion of the Wheel of the Dhamma Sutta,” to his last teaching during the narrative account of his death before he entered final Nirvana, we will  focus on the practical application of some of the Buddha’s most important lessons to our modern practice and daily lives. 

In Series II, IMS Online teachers will explore how the Buddha advised lay people, including the five precepts for lay people, how to apply right view to daily life, and how to work with conflict and difficult thoughts. We will end this portion of the program with one of the Buddha’s most important teachings for any student–lay or monastic–on how to have faith in the practice while simultaneously testing and learning for ourselves.

This program is open to beginning and seasoned meditators alike. All are welcome. This program will include dharma teachings, meditation instructions, and opportunities for Q&R.
