The Buddha identified ten qualities of character that were necessary for the development of an awakened life. Today, the cultivation of these ten virtues is more important than ever as we individually and collectively seek to navigate an increasingly complex world.

This September, join Sylvia Boorstein and Sharon Salzberg for the third gathering in a series of special events exploring the ten virtues. In Part III of A Direct Path to Happiness, we focus on the qualities of morality, truthfulness, and energy.

What does morality look like in our everyday reality when it is based on the Buddha’s statement that “If you truly loved yourself, you’d never harm another?” Why is truthfulness separated out from other ethical considerations for special emphasis? And sometimes the word courage is used to describe this quality, instead of energy…what’s that about?

Together, Sylvia, Sharon, and the community of attendees will explore the qualities of morality, truthfulness and energy through dialogue, sitting and walking meditation, and question & answer sessions.

This special event is open to people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and experience levels.

This program will be recorded and made available for on-demand viewing after the live sessions. On-demand videos will be available for 90 days following the live event.
